Herbal Salve Making Class
Come celebrate spring by learning the art of herbal salve making! Salve can be applied topically for skin irritations, scars, burns, wounds, cracked/dry skin, achy muscles, and more. This demo style class will take you through the process of making your own salve from harvest to bottle and send you home with your own 2 oz glass jar of all-purpose healing salve, just in time for the upcoming garden season when those hard-working hands need a little extra care! With spring (and the turn of Rice’s Mill’s fiscal year) on the horizon we want to put some dates on your calendar!
ANNUAL MEETING - Saturday, APRIL 18th 10-12
Brunch potluck followed by annual meeting, financial report, brainstorming for 2026. We'll have a breakfast feast (and lots of coffee!), catch up with neighbors and get a running start on our year.

Ash Basketry Workshop
Black Ash Berry Baskets with Penny Hewitt
Saturday, July 11, 10-5 with a lunch break
Ages 14 and up
$125 to register + $40 material fee paid at class.
Make your own basket and in the process learn one of the oldest crafts in human history. For thousands of years baskets served as indispensable objects in every culture. Carry on the tradition and take home a beautiful, durable and useful basket crafted from responsibly harvested, hand pounded, Vermont black ash logs. This is a great introduction to the extraordinary qualities of the black ash tree. You will weave a square to round basket, approximately 6”x 6” with optional leather strap.
